Review of Julie & Julia (2009) by Valerie P — 27 Mar 2011
I only watched this on a whim, thinking that I wasn't all that interested in Julia Child's life. I am so very glad I happened upon it, however, as it is a truly well done film that offers so much more than a boring bio.
The Julia Child bits ( Streep does a good job of portraying Child's unique and muppet-like voice)are interspersed with more modern scenes that tell the true story of a woman that wrote a year-long blog about cooking her way through Julia's cookbook.
Amy Adams seems to be in everything I watch lately! She did this role justice, however, and made the film feel relevant. Enjoyable and applicable to anyone who has tried hard to follow through on any project.
