Review of Julie & Julia (2009) by Scott W — 13 Aug 2011
Julie & Julia is really two movies rolled into one, and I think the director Nora Ephron handles that pretty well. I actually liked the parts with Amy Adams' Julie better. I think it's a more relatable story, plus even as good as Meryl Streep is, Julia Child's accent and mannerisms are really quite annoying.
There are some issues with the movie, with some scenes that don't really belong and unresolved plot points. But overall it's a pretty decent exploration of how these two completely different people intertwine.
