Of course I'll watch anything with Amy Adams in it. But Meryl Streep certainly steals the show in her portrayal of Julia Child -- which at first might seem caricaturish (a la Saturday Night Live) until you realize it's basically told from the point of view of the character Julie Powell.
We go back and forth between two equally compelling stories of two remarkable women, with plenty of light moments and heartfelt scenes -- and mouth-watering ones as well.
