Amy Adams plays Julie Powell, a woman who decides to work her way through Julia Child's famous cookbook. The story about the popular blog that sprung from her endeavor is engaging enough, but the real hook of this film is Meryl Streep's charming performance as Child.
The stories of both Julie and Julia are told side by side with skillful execution by director Nora Ephron. And, thanks to good acting by Adams, Streep, Stanley Tucci, Chris Messina, and Jane Lynch, Julie and Julia will prove to be a watchable flick even for non-foodies.
