Okay, first of all I have to give Julia Powell some respect for what she did. What an amazing challenge to one's self, and to have completed it!
I agree, cooking your way through an entire book like this is a good way to learn how to cook. The good thing about choosing a book like MTAOFC, is the culinary difference. You get to cook another culture's food, and learn to appreciate it. Wonderful. Though I can quickly say I won't be making aspic in my kitchen!
It would be like cooking my way through "The Silver Spoon", an even greater challenge to MTAOFC!
