Review of Julie & Julia (2009) by Tino P — 26 Aug 2012
This was something I had picked up for the wife, so I wasn't sure what to expect from it at all, as I wasn't familiar with the story. The movie is charming and fun, though my only criticism (which isn't necessarily of the film itself, but more about Julia Child) would be that it surprises me that she was evidently so douchey and dismissive of the girl's project to cook every item in her book. I mean, she's welcome to her opinion, but she's essentially taking umbrage with someone using her stupid cookbooks, which I find weird. I mean, if anything, it likely brought more attention the books than they'd received in some time, right?
Well worth a rental, I imagine this would be a good date movie for the average couple.
