Review of Julie & Julia (2009) by Rainer K — 02 Nov 2011
Not a bad film... not a bad film at all. It could have been an even better film if director Nora Ephron had opted to adapt only Julie's story because the part about Julia Child seemed a bit uninspired (Meryl Streep is not one of my favourites either and as I had no clue who Julia Child actually is before viewing I can't judge if she did a good job). Whereas Amy Adams shines as Julie Powell and has also good chemistry with co-star Chris Messina who plays her husband.
I like films about food and cooking and Julie & Julia is no exception.
