Review of Julie & Julia (2009) by Mike L — 27 Aug 2012
Meryl Streep is very good as the unforgettable Julia Child but the movie falls flat every time it goes to Amy Adams. While initially she is good a Julie Powell and the idea seems to be fun but from the middle on she just becomes whinny and we cant wait for her to get off the screen.
The interesting part is following the life of Childs, who did not become famous until later in life so her backstory is engaging made more so by her encentric nature. Thank goodness for the skip button.
