Review of Jules and Jim (1962) by Timothy S — 07 Sep 2007
Easily the most overrated movie ever. True, the techniques employed in this film were groundbreaking, but that doesn't change the story from being an utter bore, the character of Cathrine being a completely evil and insane psychopath and the two male leads are complete washouts, totally boring to listen to and watch.
I hated how sure of it's own cleverness this movie was. I think it sucked and represents the worst of what French cinema can be. Utterly boring, annoyingly pretentious, cloying, cutesy and filled to the brim with disgustingly uninteresting lead characters, who we're supposed to like.
