This is an amazing movie, and the best of Truffaut. Is it a love story? Or is it an allegorical description of the fractured state of Europe after the World War 1? The conversations are hypnotizing, with the unexpected tone breaks and flicks of rhythm, every sentence tells more about the characters more than the words themselves.
