Review of Jules and Jim (1962) by Franck J — 27 Dec 2007
One of the milestones in French "New Wave" cinema, moving forward the Italian "neo-realism" of 50s. Jeanne Moreau completely enraptures the viewer as the beguiling, intriguing, demanding Katherine.
Oskar Werner and Henri Serre are the perfect "male couple" for her to disrupt and, ultimately, destroy. All this played against French history of the first three decades. I studied this in my college French class and have highly recommend it ever since.
