Review of Jules and Jim (1962) by Priscilla E — 09 Apr 2008
I know it's just a movie, but damn. It feels like so much more for the two hours you spend watching these three people live their lives. Everything about this movie is soft and gentle, never forcing itself on you , but, slowly but surely, working its way under your skin until you somehow feel like the characters' memories and experiences are your own.
And its because Truffaut gracefully draws out whats universal in this story and presents sadness and joy in all its simplicity.
