An epic romdram, this is one of those movies that once seen is never forgotten. Another step on the celluloid road to me seeing the 175 Greatest Movies of all time as designated by The Guardian, it's the story of two friends whose relationship is threatened both by love and war.
A movie from the Sixties tackling the subject of bipolar disorder sounds astonishing and this is certainly that.
