Review of Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer (2011) by Justin B — 15 Jun 2011

I saw this with my 11-year-old daughter the other night. After reading the horrid reviews here, I wasn't sure what to expect, but we both enjoyed it immensely. Yes, it's for kids, but it's one of the best kids films I've seen in a long time (far better than the Wimpy Kid sequel).

It's got a fun spirit to it. Is it a little overboard? Maybe, but that seems to tie in with who Judy is, and what she wants out of her summer. She wants a thrilling summer experience, and pursues that experience relentlessly.
