Review of Judgment Night (1993) by Jonathan G — 25 May 2008
Not quite as effective as I remember it: this is probably Denis Leary's finest hour, and it does showcase Stephen Hopkins' use of colour and music memorably in places, but it's a fairly routine chase film for the most part.
Estevez acquits himself well with his Everyman approach, and Leary steals the film with this "I hate whiners" speech late on. It loses a star for its ill-advised use of slow-mo "nooo!" action scenes, though.
