Review of Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) by Marta M — 16 Jun 2007
This is a fantastic movie with two infamous actors playing cnotroversial figures. spencer tracy plays a loveable down to earth judge while lancaster plays a nazi war criminal who is on trial for crimes against humanity.
lancaster doesn't have many lines even though he's in a majority of the movie but when he does speak, it's almost as it time stops. the movie is silent, the room is silent, nothing is going on but him talking, and it's amazing.
this is a movie that is so fitting of the times right now for the US. the theme in this movie is whether or not the people of a country should be punished for actions that their country committed? this is a longer movie but I wouldn't quite call it an epic cause it drags too much and there's too little going on.
regardless, this is a fantastic movie and I don't know how historically accurate this is, but events like this did take place a lot. a must see for evreyone and a great lesson in history.
