Review of Judge Dredd (1995) by Luke T — 09 Jan 2011
Judge Dredd.
Campy cheese, but mindless fun.
Having no idea what the comic is like, I can only assume that it's similar to this one-liner packed parade of silly costumes. Despite all of its obvious shortcomings (aka: dialogue, overall script, casting), it hits a lot of the cliches that you'd want to see. I guess the biggest fault is that it seems at times to have trouble deciding between "take me seriously please" and "isn't this all just ridiculous?".
Next time I watch this I might just sit through and count the one-liners, there are so many of them. But hey, who better than Sylvester Stallone to pull off a phrase like "I am the law!".
Sylvester, you're not, ok. I'm sorry.
