Review of Judge Dredd (1995) by Kieran F — 27 Nov 2013
I'm normally not a fan of Stallone I think his films are boring and uninspired usually and this is a good reason why. I guess the effects are good and the action isn't to bad but when the film is basically self parodying it's self it's hard to enjoy the film when it's self parodying it's self and almost shooting itself in the foot every time.
As I said this film try's so hard to be serious but every time it starts getting in that direction it falls apart. It's almost like they tried to make a Stalone version of Robocop but failed miserably.
As for the character and the comics the only thing it has in common is the first 30 seconds of it when Dredd has his halmet on. The moment that comes off the film just goes down hill from there.
