Review of Judge Dredd (1995) by Rory L — 23 Jun 2011
One of the geuninely most cliched films I have ever seen. Every line is attempting to be epic but falls dismally short, sounding instead like its ripped lines straight from better films.
Every single film device is used, I can't get over it: the evil long lost brother, the mentor who is murdered in front of Dredd, a lippy sidekick and hot love intrest who is inexpicably attracted to slyvester stalone's boring and emotionless character.
And the action. Holy mother of god it's shit. The angle changes every single time someone 'lands' a blow so its hard to even tell what's happening, never mind that it is the sort of editing a seven year old would use.
On the other hand if you are bored, don't really mind shit films and have absolutely no other alternative to watch, go for it.
