Joy ride is more of a thriller rather than a horror film. at times it gets you really excited and you can't wait to see what happens next. the film does a really good job in building suspense and and catches you off guard at times.

the acting is good and convincing and the overall script is cleverly written. its exciting and frightning and has some good humorous parts. steve zahn and paul walker are a great match and zahn gives a great older brother performance that is really convincing.
