Review of Joy Ride (2001) by Carolyn G — 23 Jan 2010
This movie started off very taut. Suspenseful, a decidedly isolated atmosphere. This movie is mostly handled well. At times, it reminds me of Hitchcock thillers like Rear Window or Psycho. But, there is some scenes that compromise this vision.
The idea of the faceless killer has been done a lot. For this movie to rise above, it really should have stayed away from gimmicks and plot twists that don't stand up to any scrutiny.
