Review of Joy Division (2009) by Craig G — 22 Jul 2008
A competent music documentary, though I really found Control to be more informative and emotionally gripping. Even at 90 minutes, I found this film to be slower paced, especially when it came to the third act, which tirelessly dwells upon Curtis' breakdown in a regressive fashion.
I also wanted to hear even more about Martin Hannet's techniques for recording the band, which seemed glossed over in this.
