Picked up the dvd with some trepidation having watched control (which almost managed to turn the joy division and ian curtis story into another rock cliche) but this comes close to capturing the mood of joy division's music and the urban anomie, claustrophobia and alienation of living in the industrial sprawl of manchester at the fag end of the 70s.
