Review of Joy (2015) by Gustavo B — 04 Jan 2016
This is a women's empowerment movie, IMHO. But it was still enjoyable to watch. J.Law knows how to convince anyone of her role in a movie and she does just that in this movie. Like SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, she stole the show.
Bradley Cooper's role in JOY was more supporting actor than anything. He played his role right and that was that. The movie has some dark humor to it. It's mainly the story of a young woman who put her life on hold to help everyone around her, including her family, to be civil and not disappoint them in the process.
She then finally comes up with a way to get back to where she left off. I liked it. It wasn't awesome, but very nice to watch and based on a real person's life account.
