Joy is a film about the invention of the Miracle Mop and the business behind it. Sounds like a pointless film to make, however it showcases Lawrence's acting talent and the empowerment of women. Now i'm not a massive fan of David O Russell, in fact I'm not a fan at all, but I can say this was a good film for what it was.
The script was good, I was invested in the character of Joy and the acting was great (especially Lawrence, De Niro and Ramirez).The problem I have with the film, is that it tries to be more emotional than it should be and that many of the scenes did drag out for abit so there are pacing issues.
