Depending on who you ask, this film has made 'Monkey' cool again. Stephen Chow's distinctive style is definitely present, from some moments of ingenious irony, to the 'Buddha's Palm' from Kung-Fu Hustle taken to a nuclear level.
Combined with an entertaining story and a previously unexplored horror angle, Conquering The Demons is for all fans of the Monkey TV series, the Journey To The West Legend, and maybe even some newcomers.
