Review of Journey to the West (2014) by Resli B — 14 Aug 2014

Having watched The God of Cookery, Shaolin Soccer, and Kung Fu Hustle, I watched this expecting an entertaining hour and fifty minutes. Unfortunately, the plot was slow to start, confusing at times, and not engaging.

There were a couple of scenes that made me chuckle or smile, but nowhere near the likes of the three aforementioned movies. The comedy felt forced, labored and not natural, unlike the preceding films.

Hope future releases bring more to the table.
