Review of Journey to the Centre of the Earth (1977) by Jenn S — 20 Mar 2005
:rotten: It is dissappointing, pointless, with an awful cast full of miscasted actors, starting with the only person who carries all the film: James Mason.
The story was terribly violated and with severe distortions. The F/x.
Are a shame, using a snake instead of an extincted creature, that's ridiculous. Why??. James Mason is a good actor and he gets the only 2 points of the film, but the truth is he is miscasted, If I directed the film now, I would Kevin Kline as Lindenbrock.
The script doesn't respect Jules Verne and this is an insult, the romance between Grauben and Axel is very Hollywoodesque, the music is a piece of trash, don't you see this awful movie, one of the worst dissapointments of my cinemathic life.
