Review of Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) by Mike L — 12 Feb 2010
I picked up this move at the library, not knowing that it was in 3D. It's not the greatest movie in the world, but some of the visual scenes were pretty cool. The 3D effects seemed a bit lackluster as the movie progressed, but it was interesting enough to keep my attention.
I kind of gave it a break, because the charactors weren't very interesting, but the setting certainly made up for that.
Like the scene with the rocks floating in mid air, and the raft surrounded by fish eating dinosaurs.
So I enjoyed the fantasy aspect of the movie, but there were some things that happened that just seemed a bit far fetched.
Even though everything is make believe, falling from hundreds of feet and hitting the ground without a scratch.
Just seemed a bit too unreal.
Otherwise it was a decent movie.
