As the title suggests, The Journey to the Center of the Earth is based on Jule Vernes famous science fiction novel. I got the chance to watch this in 3-D, which made the movie quite a unique and fun experience.

At moments I felt like I was on a roller coaster alongside Brendan Fraser and company (especially in the mine cart scene which reminded me a lot of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom but add in the 3-D factor and the experience is more realistic).

This is a popcorn movie at its purest state, the sole purpose is that of entertaining the audience by adding some interesting third dimensional gadgets. From the opening scene the message is sent to us when we see Brandon Fraser brushing his teeth and spitting towards the camera.

The reaction from the audience in the theater was simultaneous. We were in for a new experience. However I dont think I would of enjoyed the movie in the 2-D version. The story was simple, the movie was predictable and the entertainment came from the new experience of wearing the glasses and being part of the action.

Brandon Fraser was much better in this film then in the latest Mummy and the special effects were good as well. If you are going to watch this movie then make sure you see it in the 3-D version because that is what makes this film more unique and entertaining.
