Review of Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) by Mary O — 24 Mar 2008

I was so young when I saw this movie, that seeing it again as an adult I was surprised to re-learn that there was singing in it. I loved this movie as a child, and will always be coloured by that fond memory.

I particularly like how old movies and books didn't feel the need to jump right into the action from the very beginning. The gentle set-up makes the fun that much greater once it gets going. The duck part at the end still gets my blood boiling.
