Review of Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) by Christopher W — 21 Feb 2016
This is a movie adaptation of a Jules VERNE story about naturalist scientists exploring an underground world in Iceland. The tone, as well as some specific parts of the movie, reminded me of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (FLEISHER 1954), which is another movie adaptation of a Jules VERNE story.
The acting is overdone; it often feels like it was taken from a play. The sets and special effects are great.
