Review of Journey From the Fall (2007) by Gil A — 18 Nov 2007
Powerful, moving and for anyone who doesn't know about the horrific experience that so many Vietnamese suffered, it's a terribly important story. The filmmaking is beautiful, lyrical even when it's showing some of the worst human experiences imaginable.
The setup and timeline takes a bit of getting used to but it suits the cyclical -- downright Buddhist -- story that it tells.
