Review of Josie and the Pussycats (2001) by Eric C — 18 Oct 2009
Guilty pleasure is what I could say about this film. It is filled with just about every kind of cliche. I mean you have a struggling rock band, who are nothing in the beginning, than they are someone, than they fight the bad guys and than there is a happy teen movie ending.
This film also happened to really be advertising for just about EVERY product imaginable. We are even subjected to an imitation boy band, "pukes. ".
The pluses are there though, we have some pretty decent tunes from the Pussycats. We also have a great looking band, I mean come on Rachel Leigh Cook, Tara Reid AND Rosario Dawson, hhhuuummmm. Parker Posey is of course funny as hell in her ditsy portrayal, sadly she is type-cast.
