Review of Josie and the Pussycats (2001) by Liz C — 24 Jan 2008
A right on piss-take of music industry hype and the brainwashing effects of product placement and marketing. Sure it's light and fluffy and it's got a shit awful schmaltzy ending but every scene has knowing subliminal messages, 'like, ohmygod, I need a big mac! Forget the fact that Tara Reid is in it, she's perfectly cast as a dumb blonde.
Kay Hanley from Letters to Cleo is responsible for the kick ass soundtrack as well.
