Review of Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean (2012) by Graham B — 24 May 2013
Intriguing tale telling the story of James Dean as a young jobbing actor in Hollywood. It's basically told through a series of sexual encounters, mostly anonymous.
Melodramatic in parts, the whole thing does read as an acting class and though beautiful looking, doesn't quite gel as a film. A great performance by James Preston as the brattish Dean.
