Review of Joshua (2007) by Leo G — 03 Feb 2008
The movie just borrows too many elements from better horror movies including (mostly) The Omen, The Shining, and Rosemary's Baby. Add to that a mother who does nothing but overact, and you have a pretty bad film.
To be fair, though, there's a good 20 or so minute stretch near the end where the kid terrorizes his dad that is actually pretty good, but it's ruined by a bad ending. The final revelation isn't bad, it's just the way it's presented.
It seems so out of place.
