Review of Joshua (2006) by Hui S — 11 Dec 2009
Jacob Kogan who plays Joshua is partly responsible for the amount of horror in the movie due to his scary (and innocent) looks. Wonderful choice of actor.
This story does not tell about ghosts (even though they are mentioned) but about a boy who is thought to cause his parents and grandparents evil and pain. In fact it's a clever story written from the point of view of the father (played by Sam Rockwell) who is not aware he is abusing his son.
And the viewer is given the feeling that the son is in fact evil. This makes the story so good. The viewer needs to use his brain and take a position.
