Review of Joshua (2002) by Hannah S — 29 Mar 2009
An effective and modern slant on the demon child concept which bases most of its uncomfortable atmosphere more on the horrors of domestic life (child rearing issues and consequential relationship breakdowns) rather than from any gore or cheap thrills.
Vera Farmiga and Sam Rockwell are superb in their respective roles as parents dealing with post-natal depression and the pressures of work, alongside handling sibling rivalry of the most dangerous kind.
