Review of Joshua (1976) by Chris G — 27 Jan 2008
Amusing "thriller" finds a young boy upset over the new baby in the family, fearing his parents may no longer love him. Improperly advertised as a horror film, the film, while creepy in parts, is more a humourous, over the top take on adolescent jealousy and an examination of the seemingly perfect family falling apart.
There are actually quite a few funny things in the film, but it seems most people miss it because they think they're watching a horror film. Sam Rockwell is great as the father, and Farmiga plays a great nutcase mother.
