Review of Jonah Hex (2010) by Corey N — 04 Feb 2011
Jonah Hex is based off of a DC comic. Set after the civil war we have bounty hunter Jonah Hex with a scarred face looking to fight evil. Once he learns that the man responsible for his family death and his scar is still alive he sets out to stop him.
This movie is what I would call a action western. Full of explosions, gunfights, and over the top action. Plus the film has a supernatural twist to it. I thought the film was decent. I got what I expected from it.
A action western that entertained. No awards going out for the acting but the film has a solid cast. Josh Brolin was a great Jonah Hex. I have not read too many Jonah Hex comics in my time but I thought this film was close enough to the original material.
The story could have been stronger as well as the flow of the story. It felt kind of rushed. If your a fan of the comic then check it out. If your looking for a action western then check it out. The film may not appeal to all but I thought it was worth at least a one time watch.
