Review of Jonah Hex (2010) by Dane O — 17 Nov 2013
Proof positive that just because it is based on a comic doesn't mean it will translate well in a movie. The Jonah Hex comic was not wildly popular to begin with; it is sort of an acquired taste with his disfigurement and all, which is more pronounced in the comic.
With an all-star cast, this should have been better. The story here is too simple: revenge on the man who killed his family. There is no depth, no opportunity to know and connect with the characters. The action is fast-paced but the run time hinders anything solid from occurring.
When even Megan Fox's beauty can't give this a bump, you know there just isn't much here.
