I'll admit, the ONLY reason I saw this movie or read the book was because of the obvious Metallica connection. I enjoy it for that reason of course, but I was also left pretty depressed after finishing the book -- the movie does a nice job of creating the same feeling.
Of course, there's a other audience that regards this movie (and the book) for its anti-war sentiments...no doubt hippies looking for something cling to in our current state of affairs. But, whatever.
They don't make 'em like this anymore folks. See it!!
