Review of Johnny Dangerously (1984) by Dathan R — 14 Oct 2012
I can't believe that it took me almost 30 years to see this. I thought I had watched every spoof movie ever made, but this one slipped past me. Then when you consider how much I love James Cagney movies.
..it is almost a crime. Michael Keaton does a great Cagney type character, he has the lingo and swagger and the facial expressions all down, but Joe Piscopo, steals the show as Vermin. He gets the best lines and my favorite line is when his lackey tells him that they cannot park because it is a handicapped parking spot and Vermin tells him that he is handicapped, he's psychotic.
It's campy, but it's supposed to be. Just a cute light movie.
