Review of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019) by Wilwil — 09 Jun 2019
---The latest John Wicke III flick (Parabellum) is so-corny-at-times-it-hurts’; + this despite lovely inherent ‘locales’ like N.Y. ‘s rooftops & the Moroccan desert. –A shallow ‘Hale Berry’ obviously ‘tagged-on’ to this ‘Wicke’ sequel simply-so-as-to-IMPRESS (+ remind us she ‘s still ‘saleable’ material cinema-wise) inasmuch as her role calls for the effortless shooting of scads/ scores of bad-guys point-blank in the head --- i.e.: a Wicke ‘mainstay’ (which he ‘d carried off w/ aplomb in Chapter II; …itself a ‘novelty’ carry-over from Matt Damon ‘s ‘Bourne’ series, methinks). –‘Berry’ should ‘ve been knocked-off right from the start so as to make this movie, (if anything), ‘mainstream plausible’! -Yet, then again, so should ‘ve Harrison Ford in ‘Return of the Jedi’ (early-80s), as well~!
***'Sloppy' to say the least!***.
-Either Keanu Reeves is getting old, else he simply could ‘nt give a ‘hootenany’ anymore --- whereby he could ‘ve INSTEAD come-across as ‘realistic’ --- in the especially-latter fight-scenes, the which require quick synchronization synergism; …+ wherein Japanese assassins outright ‘had’ him at every angle (…yet would somehow ‘pause’ mid-way so as to let Keanu catch-his-breathe; …whereupon he could then, in-turn, assail them anew, unbelievably!).
