Review of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019) by Lambo442 — 17 May 2019

Parabellum is an amazing feat of cinema and the best action film I've seen since the Raid 2. In fact it seems to be directly inspired by the Raid movies and even stars a couple of it's main actors.

The action is brutal, non stop and choreographed beautifully. It's a chase film and takes us to exotic locations as well as through the glittering, rain-soaked, Neon Streets of New York.

Two very minor gripes I had were...firstly, the gunfight scene on Casablanca felt a little bit contrived and unrealistic, more like a computer game than anything. Why the hell can none of these people shoot straight? Second issue was, why do two of the ninja assassins during the end fight scene stop their blades right next to John's neck, demonstrating that they could have killed him and thus allowing him to get the better of them ultimately? Was it out of respect for him maybe? Seemed a bit odd. Anyway, this is nitpicking. I was also a bit sketchy about the way they've made John Wick almost into a superhero. Some of the stuff he endures, there's no way he'd get back o up so quickly. What a movie though.
