Review of John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) by Brandon E — 24 Apr 2017

Superb. The first film was great. The second film is even better. John wick has been praised as a perfect callback to a good action flick and it's well deserved. In other (crappy) action films, most have choppy editing to hide the poor choreographed scenes. However this film aims for long takes. Which are effective in showing how brutal the protagonist is in the film. There's a great scene in the tinsel where Wick has guns stashed and he must fend off a bunch of baddies. That scene is superb, there's also a scene where a guy is killed by a pencil. These scenes are great in a cringe like manner.

Much like the film Wanted, this film looks at the organization that Wick is apart of. That's what makes a good sequel, it doesn't copy the original but builds on the world that the film takes place in. A lot of people had doubts about a second film but John Wick 2 got it right. Brilliant action and stunts. This is the action movie to see in 2017.
