Review of John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) by Badhairday — 02 Mar 2017
John Wick 2 improves on the original movie in every way except one; the emotional drive that the first movie had does not carry over to the second film. The killing of his dog and the nuanced emotional background is not present in the second movie and there's no real convincing motivation for John to start massacring people as there was in the first film.
Knocks off a point, in my opinion. That being said, everything else was spectacular, and the cinematography and use of color in the film series has been great. Sequels usually don't improve on the original but this one did it in a big big way.
