Review of John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) by Compi24 — 11 Mar 2017
Welcome to "John Wick: Chapter 2," where the stakes have doubled, the headshots are even more cringe-inducing, and all your fears featuring this series turning into the next "Taken" franchise are put to an infinite rest.
Because, with Wickmasters Chad Stahelski and Derek Kolstad still at the creative helm of this brilliantly choreographed ship, you're in more than just safe hands. Sure, the impetus for this sequel is nowhere near as raw and primal as the inciting incident from its predecessor, but thanks to some next-level set pieces, and a heap load of development added to the heightened world we all fell in love with in 2014, we are given more than enough to latch on to and fawn over here.
It's the kind of "Dark-Knight/Empire-Strikes-Back-esque" second installment that makes you wish the powers-that-be had just shot the third part alongside of it - so you wouldn't have to wait that long to find out what happens next.
