Review of John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) by Movie K — 24 Feb 2017

Certainly a worthy sequel. Straight to the point story but done so well. Action movie well executed sequences. Better action than the first movie. In the opening Keanu Reeves chase after a biker to get an entry card.

Peter Stormare who is the brother of the first movie antagonist, is packing up his HQ because he has the Mustang that belongs to Keanu. He start to tell his men he ain't no easy boogeyman. Then Keanu enter the place and get his car back but not without plenty of action and kills.

He make peace with Peter after all are defeated. Riccardo Scamarcio who is another assassin, want Keanu to kill his sister Claudia Gerini who succeeded the underworld assassin throne after their father passed away.

He want the throne and so force Keanu to accept using the blood oath he made. Keanu reject off course. Riccardo use RPG to blow his house to bits. This time round the pet dog survives. Keanu find Ian McShane who advise him there's no choice but to accept because of the blood oath.

So Keanu suit up and prepare for the kill even though there's a rule that no killing on continental ground. Claudia saw Keanu during her "coronation" and decide to slit her own wrist instead of been killed.

Her loyal bodyguard Common goes after Keanu. Ruby Rose, the mute bodyguard of Riccardo also try to kill Keanu after the mission. Franco Nero the Italy base chairman broke the fight and repeat no killing on continental ground.

Common hear Keanu explanation and know he is force to but he will still take revenge. Riccardo put a bounty of $7 million on Keanu after that. All hit men try their luck including Common but Keanu just kill them all.

He go into underground hiding to seek help from Laurence Fishburne, whom he spared many years ago during a job. He lead him via underground to the museum where Riccardo is. Fighting inside a mirror room exhibition, it is well done and exciting.

Ruby try to redeem her mistake but is eventually killed. Riccardo escape and seek shelter in the hotel where no killing is allow. He taunt Keanu and Ian try to calm him down but to no avail. Keanu shoot him in the head.

Ian meet Keanu in a park which is full of hit man. He advise Keanu to run within 1 hour. And give out the command Keanu is no more in the community. He and his dog keep running, with hit men all over the place looking at him.
